The M4s work very well. No need to wait for M5s. You would probably not notice the difference with the OS.
I have OCZs of 3 different generations (the oldest is from 2008) on 3 different systems and I hardly notice a difference.
Hard Man of Facebook: We might just eat those cheap TLC flash chips ? The RegisterMicron has built the world's smallest 3-bits per cell NAND chip, targeting USB stick memory and the like, while Facebook's open source hardware guru has indicated such chips could be used in its cloud's data centres providing ultra-cheap flash storage.
Micron has just built a 128Gbit TLC chip using a 20nm process which is just 146mm2 in area. That's 12.083mm a side, slightly bigger than a small fingernail. It means TLC flash applications can cram more capacity in the same physical size as before.
Samsung new 840 SSD uses TLC NAND, (840Pro is MLC) so look for this in the lower price SSD coming to market.

The M500 has nearly the same read/write specs as the M4, hardly enough to induce a lot of sales.
