There is also the common occurrence of people buying stuff, messing up on the installation, throwing their hands up and blaming the component, then sending it back muttering "piece of crap!".

The retailer tests the product and finds nothing wrong, but it is an open box, so they try and recoup by selling as refurbished. Sounds better than "open box" in some cases. I got my phone for a penny that way.
That should be labeled recertified, not refurbished.
I've assembled several systems for my financially challenged friends this past year and used factory refurbs in every one. Half had a factory sticker indicating "refurbished" others had no notation at all about being refurbed. These sell at half price, have half the warranty, and so far all are operating perfectly. Most are ssd's with a few spinners in the mix.

I did have one failure this year, a new 2tb WD went up in smoke and flames (really caught on fire) the first time it powered up.

Don't think this will be a candidate to refurb.

Nah, it's fine, it is a good deal.

The EaseUS offer flashes this window very quickly when the installer is started. It add Give Away of The Day to IE favorites too.

Wish I could get deals like you guys in the US do,
it would encourage me to build.
No neweggs here in Spain near Gibraltar.
Although have used amazon.es for a Samsung 840 pro SSD which I am very happy with.
I guess I am stuck with amazon for parts and decent prices.

Try Alternate. They have pretty good deals.
