If you return it to Newegg, be sure you have them sign for it. Otherwise, a delivery confirmation means nothing to them. I was told that the confirmation means nothing and they would not be refunding or replacing my item. They couldn't find it, so it didn't happen.
I worked shipping and receiving enough to know that wouldn't wash with me. When I return anything, I don't just drop something in a carrier's drop box; I take it to them and get a receipt to prove they got it. If the tracking report shows it as delivered but the vendor claims they didn't get it, if it was dropped off without a signature, I would file a claim with the carrier. If there was a signature, I would address the issue with the vendor. If the vendor stonewalled me, since I don't have company lawyers to do the work for me anymore, I would start with a complaint to the BBB (I've had fairly good luck with them), then escalate as necessary, such as consumer fraud complaints to the Attorney General's Offices of the State the vendor is in and my State or, if travel distance isn't an issue, small claims court.

    Good advice,
I would prefer to avoid them completely if at all possible,
ups's policy is just as bad for their delivery drivers,
People that live in houses have an advantage of a bit more room between residents
I live in a condo not much different than a apartments complex
The city of Houston considers it a commercial property and so should ups but they don't,
Anyone walking by can see and take shipments left in front of doors with little recourse I had the misfortune to find out last Tuesday when my next day air package showed Delivered and was not to me,
I was here all day so the driver obviously dropped at someone else's door step or out and out kept it,
    120. down the drain
Claim for ups lol yea they said they would call in an hour twice = never did,
Newegg well did about the same thing talk wise but put this in limbo for 10 business days which in reality 2-3 weeks from yesterday,
So until Newegg reaches a decision their site is Off limits for me,

Ups is already off the list of delivery options,
    Cheers.

This is why I don't use them any longer. Too much BS excuses for me.
I once had a problem with Amazon with a table I ordered. The day it was to be delivered, it showed it was delivered. No UPS truck ever came to my house. Called UPS, they looked into it while I was on the phone for 45 min. they said it was delivered.
I called Amazon, told them what happened, they said sorry, can I put you on hold ?
They came back 5 min. later and said they will ship out a replacement if it is OK with me. Ten min. pass I get a email saying my order had shipped. The next morning, before noon UPS was at the door. I received the new table. Plus I got a full refund for the missing table. Thank you Amazon !

Amazon cares about their customers period.

I'll share this one about amazon,
    Bought Breaking Bad series okay,
After didn't realize it wasn't a downloadable option only available on their site to view,
They refunded all of it even though it was a non refundable item,
This wasn't allot of money but I was impressed by their willingness to bend over backwards for this little bitty purchase weeks after

    I could not agree more.
The last time I had a problem with the Egg, a new $200 video card was bad out of the box. Called The Egg, said I had to return it at my expense. I had to pay full price for shipping to Calif. to their depot.
Then they charged me extra for a pickup surcharge, to pick it up at my house. I think the whole shipping venture cost me $35. or so. Plus it was at least three weeks before I received the replacement GPU.

I never took a chance to order from the Egg again.

I received a DOA HDD from Newegg a couple of months ago. I put in for an RMA and shipped it back to them (it galled me to have to pay for shipping it back but that was a small percentage of the purchase price). I received the replacement in two days. Other than the ten shekels to return it, I had no complaints. Except for one time when I had to sic the BBB on them to get results, Amazon has had better customer service than Newegg.

I don't have any mail or packages sent to my home. I have a private mail box service that receives them. That way, they are held in a secure location until it's convenient to pick them up. It's far safer than having things delivered to my home where everyone and their dog can help themselves to what was delivered or get ruined by weather. If I decide to go out of town for a while, I don't have to worry about stopping mail delivery.

Your saving grace is being so close to them. I'm on the other coast and have to take a beaten every time.
The only problem I have with Amazon is shipping time that is slow for free shipping. This is to me a small trade off in return for the excellent Return policy and customer phone service. I have no problem waiting four or five days for any item I buy, knowing If there is any problem with it, I will be able to return it easily.

I'm sure the delay is to insure processing the payment is received,
What they might not know is I'm contacting the cc tomorrow
Time is on their side not mine

    True that.

I know what you mean about the slow shipping. Even if an order is going to ship from a warehouse only 20 miles from me, they usually will not fill the order for several days whereas orders being shipped across the country get filled much faster.
