| | im Running Win 7 ultimate 64 bit and i idle at 28 processes.. i have my computer tuned purely for gaming leaving only essential processes like internet..audio and graphics drivers..i dont run a printer, server ect so i was able to disable quite a bit and all my programs and set to manual so it only boots up when i need them to..28 processes running and system is extremely responsive. also Windows defender is definitely disabled, if you want and run down of how i optimize or any questions email me at Dnaangel10@yahoo.com and put subject as optimize |

| | A better approach is to run a clean boot so nothing starts but with Windows 7 but your AV. Uncheck everything except AV in msconfig>Startup, after reboot enter msconfig>Services to Hide All MS Services, uncheck everything except AV again. Check back after several reboots to see if anything writes itself back in, turn it off in its Program Prefs or uninstall it. You now have a clean boot with only programs you open running up your CPU/RAM.. |
