Crash trying to come out of Standby

Hello all,

I'm having a bit of trouble when trying to get my PC out of standby/sleep mode. I would leave my computer on and go to work. When I come back and try to wake the computer using my mouse or keyboard, the computer would respond but my screen would stay blank, the monitor lights stay orange, then my computer would just reboot.

Here is my current build:

Any help would be appreciated. Please let me know any additional information is needed.

Also, attached is my WEI.

are you using the latest bios for the board?
looks like SZ2E is the latest, but a lot of the previous bios's mention S3 fixes or improvements

the x58 chipset based boards seem to have all had problems with sleep at the beginning, but i think most manu's fixed it with bios updates

also, have you set all the voltages, mem timings etc. manually yet?
some boards can be slightly unstable with auto settings

Thanks for your reply p7ast1k.

I have flashed my bios and will be crossing my fingers.

I will try and adjust my RAM after I get more familiar with the BIOS settings. It has been years since I've mess with BIOS settngs since it's basically a set and forget thing once you have it right. And the last time I configured a PC was probably over 6 years ago.

No cigar with the bios update...

Will try and adjust memory timing and see how that goes.

I had the same issue

Please have a look here Fix Windows 7 Hibernation Error (STOP 0x000000A0 INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR) to see if this workaround solves the issue.\

I have a solution; at least one that worked for me: Enable Hybrid Sleep! To do so, go to Control Panel, Power Options, then for whatever option you have active, select Change Plan Settings, then Changed Advanced Power Settings. Expand Sleep, then Allow Hybrid Sleep, then Change from Off to On (for both battery and plugged in if you have them).

This has the side benefit of very fast restart, must faster than on XP!

I just built a new PC (specs listed in profile). The computer won't standby on it's own. If I go to start/stanby it works fine. Is there a setting that I'm missing that would cause the PC not to standby on it's own? I've checked power options, tried power saving as well as a custom plan. ...
