A myriad of problems, is there a solution

I have a lenovo laptop for the past two months. I am running windows 7 32 bit. A month ago I attempted to run a Malwarebyte scan and he computer froze and it has been a nightmare since. Some of the symptoms are: IE8 and Chrome will not load or work at all. Firefox will work but it freezes many times a day. I cannot uninstall any programs and when I try to install a program I get this message "windows installer service cannot be accessed." I have Spybot but it will not update. I am running AVG 9.0 and the scan is clean. I can update with Malwarebytes but I do not find any problems. I did a system restore with no success. I have no idea what to do please help.

Do you have any restore points available prior to the problem that you could resort to? Or, do you have the ability to restore the system back to the factory image (just be sure to backup any data that you might have saved).

If you have a repair/install disc, then I would try from that, but you might be able to restore from the advanced boot options. There is probably a repair partition for the laptop.

I have attempted to run the sfc /scannow command but it says I must run it as the administrator and I am the administrator. Any advice?

when you search for cmd, don't click on it or hit enter... instead, right click and select "Run as administrator" This will open the command prompt, but as administrator.

In the tutorial for scannow, the first step is to open an elevated command prompt: Elevated Command Prompt

I will try your suggestions. I just noticed that in small letters on the bottom right corner of the screen is a message that says
    Windows 7
    Build 7600
This copy of windows is not genuine.

I have only had this computer for 3 months. What does this mean?
