Laggy Internet & no typing when logging into an online game

Hey, I have a p4 2.6 pro running 2GB RAM. Everything runs clean and fast except internet and Online gaming. When I go to log in to my online game, its like the keyboard doesn't want to type. Can someone help me with this problem? Win7 rated me at a 2.7

    Hi wolfen and welcome

Lagging can either by machine oriented or network oriented. First thing to do is see if your machine is lagging because of your connection. There is a free app to check it. Go here and download Thesycon - USB, IEEE 1394, Software Development, Windows Device Drivers Development and run it.

If everything is ok report back and we will start checking your machine.

In the mean time could you tell us about your network setup

In case there is some confusion I think Zigzag3143 wants you to download the DPC Latency Checker at this link below:

It said I don't have any IEEE 1394 devices installed. My network is just a simple home network.

This machine should be able to handle real-time streaming of audio and/or video data without drop-outs. <--Thats what the latency checker said btw.

You may want to test you internet connection speed.

That is why I changed the link to download: Download DPC Latency Checker.

If that is 7meg and 1meg then you are doing good. What type of firewall do you have. Windows 7 built in and/or hardware firewall???

yes, thats 7meg and 1 meg. I just don't understand why the net and game play is sooo laggy like i don't have enough RAM. The only firewall I'm using is the one that came with windows 7.
