Windows Welcome screen is slow Hi everyone,
I want to start off by saying thanks to everyone that has helped me in the past. This forum is amazingly useful and I really appreciate all the help that I have received.
My problem today is with the Windows 7 startup. So, previously I used a rather old seagate drive as my system drive. It was good, but startup was rather slow. The welcome screen hung there, and the time for my desktop to fully load was really slow also (I have rainmeter, and Stardock objectdock on my desktop along with fences, a branch of stardock).
Then I got a brand spanking new Samsung Spinpoint F3. Again, 1 TB, and initially the startup was rather fast. Now, three days later the startup is slow again. I thought that the new F3 drive would make things remarkably fast, but I guess I was wrong. Does anyone know how I can speed up my startup time?
I'm referring to speeding up the Welcome screen, and speeding up the time it takes for my computer to be available for use. My specs are as follows:
AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition (unlocked to a quad core yay!)
Biostar TA785GE motherboard
4 GB OCZ3P1333LV4GK RAM
Sony Optiarc DVD drive
SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
And.. I'm not sure what other specs are relevant. Thank you all in advance!!! | My System Specs |

I don't have an exact number, but from boot to functional desktop is no less than a minute 30. I'm looking for the application right now to give you a better time estimate. Removing Spybot from startup improves boottime by 20 seconds?? That's crazy! Any ideas to make this a sub 50 second time? | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 CPU AMD Phenom II X4 555 Motherboard Biostar TA785G3 Memory 2x2GB OCZ Platinum Edition DDR3 PC3-10666 Graphics Card Sapphire Radeon 6870 Case Antec 300 Hard Drives Generic SSD (64GB)
