    Is this good software?

    Paragon?

It's free today and wondering if it is worth it.

Yes, I downloaded the last time it was offered for free and it is excellent. That being said, Macrium Reflect, which is always free is just as good and easier to learn.

The only thing I don't like about these freebie give aways is the requirement that I download and install it and activate in a certain time frame. It's fine considering it's free....but I hate to get something and get used to it...and then find that I cannot put it onto another computer if necessary because I'm outside of the allowed install time.

I've used Macrium Reflect free and it works great. I've also used EaseUs ToDo Backup at work (it's free) as it's ok in a commercial environment and it works with Server 2003 and Server 2008. (Although EaseUs, is the slowest of the products I have used and the image file is the largest.

Personally at home, I use Acronis True Image 2010. I got it for $23.99 from NewEgg and I like the Try and Decide feature. I find that it is nearly as fast as Macrium.......and kicks out a smaller output file in the end.

Thanks for the quick replies. I'll be looking into those alternatives. I just updated my setup from a dual boot with XP to a standalone 7 and am almost done setting it all up and am looking to create an image of the OS partition to save some time.

    Your input is appreciated.
