    This looks promising.

Im planning on installing W7 on a Latitude X300 with a 1.4Ghz Pentium M and 1.5GB of RAM.

    EDIT:
No luck. BSOD when I tried to install. It said the computer/bios wasnt fully ACPI compatible.
Im a really Thinkpad guy, but I got this Dell for free. Thats about what its worth anyway.

How well does Windows 7 work on computers with just 512 MB? Is the speed still ok or is it really slow?

Depends on how patient or unpatient you are!
But I've tried it on really lame computers @ the PC store, those around 150$, gotta tell you It's like XP, only a second slower, (maybe because the GPU was awful)...

    hi !

    W7 runs on a P2 with 266MHz CPU, 96MB RAM & 4Mb graphic card !

    i have done 3 tests: 2 successful...
    1. 128 MB RAM
    2. 96 MB ram

take a look at the screenshots...

on my third test with 64 MB i got some errormessages about "insufficient memory", then it rebooted...

i also have a P1 with 166Mhz CPU & 1MB Graphic card, without the powersupply-unit, as i have used it for some test on another PC.

if i can find the Powersupply-unit, i´m going to test the P1 tomorrow...
