Windows 7 laptop running slowly overnight...

Morning all - I'm a newcomer to the forum and have a problem with my windows 7 laptop which has suddenly started going slowly literally overnight.

Last night I installed the latest windows update (windows live essentials 2011) and restarted system - so far no problem.

I then bought a couple if chunky apps on the iTunes store and because my broadband is so slow I left my laptop on overnight to download. This is where the problems begin...

When I got up this morning the laptop had gone into hibernation mode and wouldn't wake up. I switched the system off and rebooted and now my laptop is running really slowly - over 15mins to boot up, all programs are hanging, tried running a registry fix via ccleaner but it hangs at 52% and won't go any further.

Any ideas????

Thanks in advance for your help!
