Strange lag... please help! Hey all, I've been having a really obnoxious issue with my laptop recently and the usual tricks aren't doing it. For reference, I'm using an HP G60 laptop (I know) running an Intel Celeron 900 @ 2.2GHz and 3GB RAM.
Whenever I'm browsing the internet, my computer lags something horrible. Every 15-30 seconds it will freeze, sometimes up to 5 seconds at a time. My CPU is normally under a 10-30% load and my RAM hovers between 35 and 45%. If I'm watching a movie, even if it's in a browser on Vimeo or YouTube or something, no problem. Playing online games isn't an issue. My music doesn't skip. Doesn't do it in folders, but it does with a few programs (I think but it's not doing it at the moment, the main issue is the internet). My connection is also fine, not that I think that's it but just in case someone asks I download at 3MB/sec or more if the server can support it. Although my upload ain't too hot... Meh, I still doubt it. Anyways, anyone know what's going on? Thanks! | My System Specs |

I use Chrome, I don't know why I didn't think of that. I'll try Firefox and see how it goes. Thanks! | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 |

Man do I feel like an idiot, that did it. I'm not sure what choked up Chrome, which I do think is better, but anything is better than dealing with that lag crap. Thanks!! | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 |

IE8 is finally perfect in Windows 7, with features that make the others look amateur. | My System Specs

For one thing IE8 will hold its page zoom or text size while Chrome has 10,000 complaints they've never responded to from Users who don't even have the Setting on their Preferences.
Chrome and Firefox have retarded handling of Bookmarks, while in IE8 you can slice and dice them as well as history a dozen different ways to get to where you've been in seconds.
Every Firefox or Chrome I install gives me issues which NEVER have come up since IE8 was in beta. | My System Specs | | Strange lag... please help! problems? All times are GMT -5. The time now is 08:50 PM.
