Welcome to Seven Forums sevengurly. Did a quick google, and there are quite a few posts about noisy fans. Most seem to point to the video card fan. Some even mentioned removing and reseating the card helped. I think you need to open the case and determine which fan is making the additional noise when you start Media Center.

There are several programs that can monitor fan speeds and you can also see if they will show the additional speed. You have an nVidia GPU, so you could use any monitoring program for the most part.

    Speedfan

    RivaTuner

Also some general system info programs

    Speccy

    SIW

    CPU-Z

    Sisoft Sandra Lite

Let us know what you find, where the noise is coming from, and if you can actually monitor a certain fan ramping up when you start Media Center. A Guy
