    Ready Boot/Read Boost ---- Registry Hack

    Does anyone know how to edit the registry to instruct Ready Boot/Ready Boost to apply only to speeding up the launch of applications?

    I very rarely shut down my computer and when I do, I am not concerned with having it boot up any quicker than it already does.

    I would prefer to have the flash drive memory dedicated all to helping programs open a bit quicker.

    Thanks.

    There is nothing you need to configure or change. Superfetch is already doing what it is you want.
    ReadyBoot only keeps traces of what is loaded when the computer boots so it doesn't have to search.
    And ReadyBoost is pretty useless for you 4 GB system.

    Since it's x64 os, readyboost can provide a boost. This is discussed in links listed.

    @karlsnooks -

    Readyboost isn't the same thing as Readyboot, which I believe the OP is referring to the latter one, and most likely Superfetch/prefetch. Or not, maybe he does mean readyboost, or both.

    You can specify to a degree what superfetch/prefetch will cache though if you want to do that. Pretty easy, just changing a couple numbers. But leaving it as is should be just fine.
