Windows Easy Transfer

hello,

I would really appreciate if any one can help me with corrupted files, I backed up my files using Windows Easy Transfer from my old laptop and I deleted all my files from that laptop to sell it. Now I cant access any of my files (.MIG01.......MIG02.....) due to my MIG02 being corrupted. I saved all these file in my hardrive and now trying to recover them in my new laptop.

Please help.

Hi, welcome to the forums

Have you tried copying all the backup data to another location? I've read that this can be caused by a degrading HDD and sometimes moving the files (using up different physical space) can solve the issue but not in ALL cases. Worth a try

Hello,

Thanks for the reply,

yes, I have tried copying the files to my desktop, but I wasnt able to copy the MIG02 file as its corrupted in my hard drive. Now I cant even right click and fix my hard drives errors, I am not sure why but it turns off when I click start for checking for errors and fixing them.

I think if can get that one file fixed I maybe able to make the whole thing work.
