    Only 2.93gb of memory available

    Hello
This is my first time on the forums, I have read other threads similar to my problems and have tried the solutions posted but to no avail.

I installed an extra 2gb of ram today on my Samsung R530 making 4gb in total. However it only shows as having 2.93GB available.

Please see attachments for info, as you can see the processes and max memory are unticked also I tried a suggestion to set graphics allocation in bios to 128mb, however the available memory still shows as 2.93GB.

    Any sugestions would be apreciated

You are using the 32-bit version of Windows 7 which can only address up to 2.8-3.25GB of RAM
Use the 64-bit version of Windows 7 to use all your RAM

You are entitled to the 64 bit version. If 32 came installed on your computer call the company, try to get the 64 bit for free or little cost.
If you bought the OS, you should have received a 32 bit DVD and a 64 bit DVD

Dont give in, at worst, you should get it for cost. Be sure that you have all the minimum requirments for 64, its more than just ram.
