    Need help.....Problem with desktop.

Ok first off i am not sure if this is the right place to post this, if it is wrong then i apologise.
My problem is, when i first turn the laptop on every thing works just fine, i can use the shorcut icons from desktop, but after a short time, if i have been browsing the internet or even playing a game, i can no longer use any thing on the desktop, it will not even let me right click. The desktop picture is there as well as all the icons.
Is there any one who can help me out here please?, cause the only way i can get it to work is to restart the laptop and then it only works for a short time or untill i open the internet browser

    Welcome
Make a full anti virus scan after you update the AV
Download and scan with an updated malwarebytes.
Make a clean boot to help diagnose
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
When the problem happens go to search and type event viewer and look for critical errors under the administrative tab, if you can
When the problem happens right clikck on taksbar, bring up task manager and give me a screen shot of process if you can

That should keep you busy for a while.

So far after having scan the whole system with Norton, i have not had the problem again. ( It found 24 problems and fix 24 problems ) I will tho post a screen shot of the task manager processes and post them if it does it again.
Thank you for your help, much appreciated.
    Sarah.

    You are welcome
    Sarah,
Glad that I could help. Luckily we caught the virus in time. A delay could have meant big problem. Ty for for the kind words and rep.

It sounds like you were seriously infected. I would run the Norton full scan at least once a day for a week to see if anything recurs, then weekly thereafter.

Double-check Norton with a full scan from Malwarebytes which is the best free malware scanner out there now. Download, install and update first: Malwarebytes

Make sure the Windows 7 Firewall is turned on and your security Windows Updates are current.
