Open laptop lid
When I do this I get a blue screen with my account picture showing. As I am the only user and admin how do I get to open the lid and get right into the GUI without this screen?
I don't use a password.
Thanks.

Could this just be you've closed the lid and placed the unit into sleep and upon opening it's asking for a password which there is none so just click past it?
You can also not have your laptop go to sleep at all either, just blank the screen when you close the lid. Here are the settings:
"Do nothing" when closing the lid will still make it blank the screen. You won't be prompted to login when you reopen the lid either, your display should simply show up again. I use these settings because I want my housecleaning programs to run at night (updates, scans, etc) and don't want the laptop to go to sleep.
If you want to use the sleep function then follow Phone Man's advice and set the lower option to Don't require a password when waking up if you don't want the hassle of having to log back in.
OK got it now. I was puzzled as I don't use a password but I still had to press a key to continue. Not a big deal I know. Security wise it would only be a problem if someone stole the unit.
Thanks all.
