Control Panel View Setting

Hi, I am trying to get the control view to small icons either via registry or group policy. For whatever reason it is always set to large icon view.

I am setting the following reg key HKU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\ForceClassicControlPanel

REG_DWORD=1

Any ideas ?

Sorted !

I finally found the reg key
its HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ControlPanel\AllItemsIconView.
Set this to 0 for large icons, 1 to small icons. Not sure where this is set in group policy

Is there any way of changing the view style of "All Control Panel Items"? Being stuck with tiles sucks hard and all of the options are greyed out.

Hi Brink. I was looking through your beautiful picture gallery of tutorials and noticed an omission on this item. I am sure many users wish to keep their selected view. Your tip only allows the view for that session only, or at least on my computer. Fwiw, that "Other site" states that next time...
