What are your thoughts on this little thingamahjig?

Before officially launching its Intel 6 Series chipset-based motherboards, EVGA has decided to introduce the Power Boost, a little internal adapter that will provide more watts to your PCI-Express bus and thus improve overall system stability.

I'm not sure. I had thought that was what the power connectors on the PCI-E devices (ex: graphics card) were for.

I can also see someone possibly frying their motherboard if this adapter was connected incorrectly in the PCI-E slot.

I think its supposed to boost the PCI express bus speed to give a little performance gain.

It looks relatively save.

Ok. It may be worth a try to see how much gain one might get.

Suppose if you overclock your graphic card it could help, otherwise it'll most likely just lead to placebo results.
