Time Sync @ Pwr On
My computer is off most of the time, so the date & time are never right unless I remember to sync them with an outside source. Is there some way to re-sync at power on, or to prompt for re-sync at start up?

According to my notes on the subject, run regedit and navigate to:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\TimeProviders\NtpClient
and change the value of SpecialPollInterval to 15180 to change the frequency of updates to once each day.
That might help since the default frequency is once a week.
You might also look at a program called About Time from arachnoid dot com. Best I recall it not only updates at interval, which you set, but it will also update when you log in.
One or the other should help.
If the time and date are constantly incorrect when you start up, this points to a failure of the motherboard battery, a small button cell type CR2032. Check your manual for details on its location and how to replace it.
