    Performance

    Hi all-

My Graphics component (Desktop Performance for Windows Aero) only reads 4.1. How can I improve this #? And also, my Gaming Graphics (3D business and Gaming Graphics Performance) reads 5.3. The rest are 5.7 and 5.9. Are those #'s OK? I went through the tutorial and it didn't seem to do anything?

The only real way to improve your scores is to upgrade your graphic card... that being said, WEI is a poor benchmark and a lot of people spend a lot of money chasing higher scores.. If your current setup does what you need, don't worry about WEI scores, enjoy your computer...

The only way you're going to get the high score is buying a Solid State Drive. My graphics score is 7.5, ram is 7.5, but my HDD is 5.9 which makes the total score 5.9. At the present time an SSD, to me, isn't worth it. I could care less about the WEI score, and my HDD's are doing what I need.

As Tews said, if your computer is doing what you want and need, there's no problem.

My standard is instantaneous performance with no hangs. I would not settle for less than that.

Troubleshooting fundamentals: Computer lags every couple seconds

Clean up a factory bloatware install: HP laptop has used up all four primary partitions

Perhaps a better question is do you feel your Aero graphics performance is adequate? A faster graphics adapter will result in window animations being smoother and may make for better handling of video, etc. The most common reason people upgrade is to get better frame-rates in games, but you don't appear to be focused on that. I recently upgraded my card and did see an improvement in desktop performance, but it didn't make anything possible that was not possible before.
