    Advanced Boot Options

After looking at this thread, I went to the options and noticed that the Number of Processes checkbox was unchecked and the drop down list was grayed out. I have an E6750 CPU, so it's a Duo Core 2, thus has 2 processors.

What effect on my computer/booting would checking this box have and selecting 2 as the number of processes? If left Unchecked, does Windows determine itself what my CPU is, how many processors it has and makes full use of it, or do I have to manually make this setting? Would this increase my bootup time? Would it have any affect on how my computer runs while in use?

    Hello Josh,

When this box is unchecked, Windows will use all processors/cores by default.

This feature is only for testing purposes to see if one processor/core is bad or not.

    Hope this helps,
