Registry recovery

Hi guys,
So - I'm able to get all the files from the VHD, that's no problem. My main problem is recovering the registry. Is this possible?

My basic predicament is this:
I had my hard drive in "2" partitions - the main one and the 100MB System Reserved partition. I've been needing to make my computer into a hackintosh for a while for school. I finally figured out how to do it, and I made a system image, assuming that I'd be able to restore it with my existing partitions. I didn't realize that when restoring from an image, it reformats the whole drive, therefore destroying my Mac OS partition. I do not want to go through that whole installation process again. I tried making the partition in Windows, and that didn't work because the Management console wouldn't let me shrink the 1 partition by more than 1 GB.

So - basically, I want to find out if I can recover the registry information from the system image.
