Unexpected Free Space

I opened O&O ~ an hour ago, just to check on the drive that holds my videos, and left it minimized, because I intended to defrag it after finishing some encoding. However, when I just maximized it again, it had a bunch of free space scattered around that it didn't have previously, and I have not deleted anything. In the screenshot below, the only thing that was free was the longer string of block on the right center, plus the large area at the bottom. I'm looking for an explanation of how this could have happened?

EDIT: Monitoring on that drive is disabled, so O&O shouldn't have moved anything.
