Images need repair everytime.
I am glad I found this forum, I am beginner when it comes to Windows 7. I just loaded Win 7 Pro on my Thinkpad X200. I messed around with the RC when it came out and keep it running on low end desktop. I recently was hired by a Govt Agency, (just finished school) and found we are slowing moving to Win 7 by the end of the year. We purchased 40 Dell 960 Desktop PC with Win 7 Pro. Since I had the most experience working with Win 7, I was tasking with building the base PC for the image, bascally, MS Office, Novell Client, Novell Groupwise and I few other programs. We are using a Zenworks Server to conduct the imaging. After I got the PC the way I wanted it, I performed an image for save keeping. I was then asked to deploy that image to 5 identical desktop PC. Each PC needed to be repaired, I am not sure what the issue was, we made a repair disk and it worked fine, but to have to do that for 34 more PC. I have a feeling that it has something to do with the 100MB partition.
Any thoughts or recommendations?
Next question, none of this desktops came with OS recovery disc. So we might have to get a Volume license disc later. If we take the image of one DELL and use that for all the DELL, are we running into licensing issues??
Last question, SysPrep? How do we sysprep this image? The XP Sysprep was easy to do use, but I have no idea about Win 7, I told my co worker that I would bring my Win 7 disc and see if it had SysPrep like the XP disc had, but my disc is 64 Bit, the DELLs are 32 bit.
Any suggestions or comments or opinions would be appreciated.
