windows 7 side bar

Recently the start up time for windows side bar can take up to 5mins to load up. The rest of my start up programs load right away its just the side bar but if I look at the running processes in the task manager sidebar.exe is running it just hasn't loaded the gadgets. I have defragmented my hard drive ran anti virus spyware and malware and didn't see anything odd in hijack this. Does any one have any ideas?

Delete and reinstall the gadgets.

Monitor the logs carefully and go through all of the other troubleshooting steps: Computer lags every couple seconds
