Windows 7: force a chkdsk/f

22 Jan 2011   #1

system 7 64 bit

force a chkdsk/f

1 - When I use chkdsk/f as administrator (or myself) on system 7 64 bit pro it will start with the usual signal (of press any button to stop) counts down to 1 second and stops there and then after about 20 seconds will start windows normally. I have not touched a button. Either at command prompt or through right properies on c:.

2 - Right clicking on a program sometimes results in greying out the program and the rotating hour glass. Then running 'resmon.exe' will not show any problems. I have to use cntrl/alt/del to stop the program. Upon rebooting it will be OK (sometimes)

HELP if possible

Welcome to Seven Forums monty5. Have a look here:

The Chkdsk.exe program does not start correctly on a Windows 7-based computer

See if that doesn't help you. A Guy
