Did you use any 3rd party app to create partition or related-to-partition tasks?

No used diskpart to create all the partitions pre install

I don't think it is anything to do with the order the partitions were created. A USB HDD is first in my list. That disk was added a month after I bought the laptop. It has remained the same ever since.
