SyncToy and NAS Problems Hi,
I've been thinking about experimenting with SyncToy to maintain an incremental backup of some data files. Having done a bit of reasearch, I found this: Quote: Important NAS and SyncToy 2.0 Information - Liam Cavanagh - MSFTMicrosoftMonday, April 20, 2009 10:00 PM
Please note that there are known issues when using SyncToy 2.0 with a Home NAS. When using a NAS, there is a chance of file corruption. We have found this to be the case across the board for all NAS configurations. We highly recommend that users avoid using SyncToy 1.x and 2.0 with NAS configurations. This issue will be fixed in an upcoming release. Unfortunately there are no known workarounds for this issue with SyncToy 2.0 and previous builds. Liam

This quite some time ago now, and I wonder if anyone is aware of whether this issue is being worked on or addressed? Or has SyncToy been abandoned?
Regards,

SyncToy I am using SyncToy 2.1 Ver 2.1.0.0 10/19/2009 with Win 7 X64. I have no problems that I am aware of. I have checked some files that were created, moved or updated and found no corruption. I am running a home network created by Windows 7. Sync Toy Thanks for defining NAS. I gave up on Sync Toy. I just didn't like it for some reason. I dl'd the free copy of GoodSync It has a lot of features. I test driving it now. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number BGC (Bob's Garage Crew) OS win 7 X64 Ultimate SP1 CPU I3770K Motherboard Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe Memory G Skill F3-14900CL9-4GBXL x 4 Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX670 + Intel 4000 Sound Card Realtek HD 5.1 (MOB) Monitor(s) Displays Asus VW224T (1) Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard MS Wireless 3000 V2 Mouse MS Wireless 3000 V2 PSU CoolerMaster 1000 Watt Case CoolerMaster HAF X Cooling CPU -- CoolerMaster 520N Hard Drives SATA Corsair Force GT 2.5" 180GB (System) Sata 3

SyncToy 2.1 works nicely with my NAS. I was a bit concerned because I didn't see a schedule option, but after reading the help, I see it can be scheduled using some command line parameters via Windows Task Scheduler. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Golden Mk.
