Startup Repair...

Hi, new here so I have no idea if this would be the right place but I'm having problems with my computer. Since I got windows 7 ages ago I never NEVER had one issue with it.. until this morning. I left the computer on as I usually do and when I woke up this morning it was in this startup repair junk. It said I might have portable devices hooked in and I needed to unplug them before it could repair properly.

The thing is, I don't have one portable device hooked onto it. But I deiced to unplug the printer and take out any of the useless cords I forgot about. So I restarted. Same message. Restarted again, same thing. I've restarded and shut down my computer 16 times, and still nothing. System restore doesn't work and it cannot find anything wrong. I dont understand what's going on, the computer was perfectly fine for ages and now I cannot even get into the desktop.

What do I do??

Hello Pringleo, welcome to Seven Forums!

Have a look at this tutorial at the link below to see if a sfc /scan from WinRE will sort the issue, it may take running it a couple times if it finds integrity issues and be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.

Startup Repair runs better from the DVD Repair console or Repair CD: Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times
System Repair Disc - Create

If it fails, try System Restore from DVD/CD Recovery Tools list:
System Recovery Options

If this fails, run System File Checker from the DVD/Repair CD Command Line: SFC /SCANNOW : Run in Command Prompt at Boot

If this fails, you can copy out your files using this method: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console

Then either clean reinstall or run your Factory Recovery partition or disks: re-install windows 7
