    Screen returns to log-in.

After opening with log-in the screen returns to log in again. Work interrupted by return to log in. Matter of short time for working on a document Cataloochee:)

In Control Panel>User Accounts remove the password to see what happens.

    Try running SFC /SCANNOW Command

If problem persists with password reinstated, try creating a new User account to see if this happens.

    Screen return to Log in

Thank you for answering my problem. So far, I have not been succesful with the SFC/SCANNON Command, but am working on it. I knew something was wrondg when my computer in loging it has ask for my password which it never does. it also left a place to "switch' if i didn't use the regular pasword. still it does hold it's open. I don't like to change passwords since i have had that one for ten years, but I will. thank again, any other sujestions would be helpful, Cataloochee

Is it possible someone there added a password? If you didn't do so then either someone else did, or some type of virus may have infected it.

Can you run a full scan with Malwarebytes?

Are you able to access the desktop at all?

Hi Greyrocker, I went thru the sfc/scannow three times as you suggested. No Change! Then changed my password. I noticed you comment on a new password and that was me. I'll let you know if it is fixed, but it sure is a nuance, thanks again Catalooc hee

Is it going to logon screen because you logged out for some reason? Or did it do a "switch user" action.... so all applications are still open after entering your password?

What were the results of the full Malwarebytes scan? Do not miss any steps.

Are you able to create a new Admin-level User Account at Control Panel>User Accounts>Manage?
