    You cant "remove" bad sectors by any means. they can be marked bad and so not be used. Thats why the actual drive size may vary.

    First install to Win7 this program and run it to read the SMART data off your HD to see it's condition: Download Center - Crystal Dew World

    Next download your HD maker's diagnostics/repair DOS scan and burn it's ISO to CD, boot and run Extended Scan: Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities (Storage) - TACKtech Corp.

    Then run Disk Check

    The diagnostic utility actually repairs the HD surface, while Disk Check repairs the file system.

    Google the exact ID string under Hard Drive in your Device Manager to see what model you have, then find it's diagnostics download on the list.

    1.> I had successfully installed Crystal Dew World.

    2.> I had downloaded my HD maker's diagnostics/repair DOS scan utility (my HD maker is Hitachi so i used OGT Diagnostic Tool v9.0 and Drive Fitness Test Windows Diskette Creator v4.16 b00)
    but didnt Burn its ISO to CD, should it be the must? Both above utilitites didn't worked when i try to run them on win7.
    > OGT Diagnostic Tool v9.0 had been successfully installed but when i trid to open then it was showing an error of missing .dll.
    >Drive Fitness Test Windows Diskette Creator v4.16 b00 couldnt installed because it was asking about A: floppy drive and i didnt had that.

    -> Disk Check run successfully.

    I want to ask one thing that MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition had an option test surface. i have checked from that and no error was found.

    Was it equivalent to that or require something?

    Can't i use any general disk diagnostics tool but in windows7 ?

    You may not have SMART enabled on the HD or Crystal Disk Info should be able to read it from Win7.

    What other test doesn't work from Win7?

    Hitachi Fitness test is an ISO that burns to CD to boot and scan the HD. I would run it. Disk check checks the files system. HD Diagnostics scan repairs the HD surface.

    both of these
    -> OGT Diagnostic Tool v9.0
    -> Drive Fitness Test Windows Diskette Creator v4.16 b00

    Crystal Disk Info had been successfully installed and worked smothly.
    According to you Fitness test will be just run through boot after burning CD.
    So Just Diagnostics Tools V9.0 was not working on Windows7.
