Seagate Replica (2T External Harddrive) GoFlex Desk

Anyone use the Seagate Replica software that comes with the 2T External Hardrive? This is the GoFlex Desk series of external harddrives.

The software does an automatic backup of all your computers harddrives and logical drives and backs up any changes periodically to the external hardrive. It is suppose to allow full recovery (it includes a boot disk, linux based for restoring from the backed up 'image').

Anyone use it, and does it successfully restore the 'image' in case of a full crash?

Why bother using third-party disk-imaging (especially from Seagate) when Windows 7 has it built-in?
The built-in one works well, I've used it.

I have 4 hard drives in a RAID 1 configuration. The drive containing my operating system crashed so I tried to restore the drives from the image made by Seagate Replica and stored on my GoFlex Drive. Unfortunately, the Replica software would not recognize the RAID configuration and I could not restore the drives. I was fortunate that I did not lose any data, but I had to reinstall the software. I would not recommend Seagate Replica for image back-up. I have since purchasd Acronis True Image to protect my data.
