    Reset button goes to windows did not shutdown properly screen


    I have a gaming case and when i press the reset button on top.it all goes ok ,but then the windows did not shutdown properly screen,it gives me options start in normal mod,,safe mode et.t.c
    ANy help why it dows this.
    The pc restarts fine and shutsdown ok too!!!

    That is perfectly normal. Basically, it causes an abrupt shutdown, meaning that unlike a proper shutdown files and documents are not saved properly to disk. The reset button is only meant to be used in the event of a system crash where there is no other means of shutting down and restarting because the mouse and keyboard are inoperative. I do sometimes use it if I am trying to catch the option to boot to my Linux disk (F11 on my system) and miss it.

    If you want to use a button use the Power Button programmed in Power Options to shut down the computer. You'll get a normal shutdown sequence then.

    AH i did read in book about its for emergency shutdowns,,thanks for advice

    The Power Button can be used for emergency shutdown by holding it in for ten seconds.

    It can also be used for normal shutdown if programmed to do so in Control Panel>Power Options by just pressing it once.
