Tony, what are you doing wearing someone elses' clothes??
G'day Aaron, this is SO OFF TOPIC, but.....
....back on my own rig Mate, as I was then just visiting a Mate of mine "Mosgrae", and introducing him to the great unwashed of Windows 7. So impressed was he, that his decision to join this rabble here, was instantaneous, after which I released the pressure on both of his arms, that I had forced hard up behind his back.
Besides, I find your subliminal suggestion that I am a practitioner of the custom known as 'Cross-dressing', frankly, quite exciting, no really VERY exciting!!!! You looking for a date???? Sweetie!
Hello Sweetie!, how've you been mate!
Later :) Ted, Slightly-Later Ted, Even-Later Ted, No-Show Ted.....One day Ted, you'll turn up late for your own Funeral , and then put it on the backburner. Ted
The PC in my specs draws 80 watts at idle and 160 at full load. It's much more often at idle. I use 90 watts as an overall average estimate. That's one kilowatt hour (1000 watts) for every 11 hours of operation. I pay 13 cents per KWH and run about 11 hours a day. So I pay right around 13 cents a day.
You would pay half of that if you used only 90 watts on average. You would pay about the same amount if you averaged 180 watts. All assuming 11 hours per day. Your power is about half the cost of mine.
At 24 hours per day and 180 watts, your cost would be near 14.8 cents. Adjust that based on your actual usage in watts.
You'd have to research your CPU and graphics card to see how much they burned and then make an estimate.
I figured increasing the efficiency of my PSU from 80% to 85% would save me about $3 per year.
IMHO most home users have no need to be 24/7 turn if off when not in use. Not because of the power usage but because of the wear and tare on the computer. In normal use a single computer would be hard pressed to use $0.50 a day it all depends your cost of electricity where you are located.
.....and admin, this is WAY OFF TOPIC, BUT TED MADE ME DO IT
Well Hello there young Teddy Boy!,
Nice to see that you're still chunkin' away on your IBM Commuter PC, and thanks for asking. Life is cruising along brilliantly, and has been for the last almost two years - any fitter and I'd be posted as dangerous.
Looks like I'll be uppin' sticks from here in the near future and relocating to London, and really very keen on getting there.....and all because of one of those rare things in life - a very good [and sometimes bad!] woman.
Love the signature Teddy Boy, that sure does take me back and I sincerely hope that all is good in your life too...
Cheers Mate...Tony
PS. Sepoys begrudgingly send their best
Hello again Tony.
Very good to see you around mate and all the best to you and the little woman, congrats on the big move!
... and of course to the Sepoys also!
