What can I do to make my laptop perform better? [Acer Extensa 5235]

    Hey SF,
I was wondering would I be able to tweak about with my laptop to make it perform better? Run quicker, boot quicker?
It's recently been formatted and it takes 126 seconds to re-boot.

    Code:

    - That's my current model.

Running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit.
Can you overclock laptops, if so should I do it with this?
Could I pick up any parts for this and install them in?

    Thanks,
    Stylah.

Add more Ram ... disable or set some services to start manually when you need them.

Just above the chart is a box to show 10 entries ... change that to 100.

All those post are great and will help you. Just keep in mind Windows likes more Ram and uses it well.

Change the Boot drive to a Solid State Drive
    Max out the ram
Run msconfig and stop any programs from starting that do not need to run all the time.
Remove all the Acer Bloatware, I formatted my wife's Acer and installed a new retail copy of windows 7 and now use Absolutely NO Acer software at all and it runs a lot better.
