Administrative Permission

I am trying to make a change to a software program host file and I get the notice that it requires administrative permission to move the file to replace the existing file with same name.

How can I accomplish this and replace the file?
I have Windows 7 Ultimate installed as my operating system.

Thanks

Tom

Hello Tom,

It sounds like you need to take ownership and set permissions to Allow your user account Full Control of the original file first. Afterwards, you may be able to replace it with the other copy.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
