Reliability History - journal of changes?
Hi all
I have been perusing the forums for a little while so thanks to all those who have provided the hints and tips that have enabled me to transition from my old XP system. Something that was not without a little pain, however, as I was quite happy with XP although not with the outdated hardware that it ran on. Overall I am quite happy with Windows 7 and it seems just as stable as I found XP to be.
I am quite amenable to a little tinkering and tuning, easier on XP I have to admit but that might just be the learning curve, so rarely a week passes without some change to my system. I rely on Macrium Reflect Free edition for images (System Restore never used even on XP) and SyncBack for general backups of data.
Because I make so many changes I tend to image my system so that it relects the changes and lately I have taken to recording these changes to a text file so that I can understand if and when problems occur as to their origins. I find the Reliability History quite useful as it relects software installs, updates and problems but it would be nice to add notes so that a full history of the system could be seen at a glance - any changes made to the system for example. The Event Viewer - Windows.application experience.program inventory seems to give a fuller history of software installs/uninstalls and various logs can give information on problems. Am I missing something and there is perhaps some way of combining all these elements other than manually?
Thanks
Steve
