Well, something new(?) is either thrashing your disk or your CPU.

Without a good description of your system specs --- kind of hard to go further.

Another thing that might help is a screen shot of Task Manager with all running tasks showing (click the button in the lower left corner ).

Hey when last u defragmented your hard-disk...first of all defragment it and also it may be due to Anti-Virus you have installed...try installing Avast or Microsoft Security Essentials...download it from softpedia.com its free....or may be some-thing is using your hard-disk like demon...!!

Sounds like Firefox not Windows. FF has a bad reputation for this.
Most reliable fix is to clear the FF history cache or at least dramatically reduce it through options->Privacy. That should improve things.
The bad news is a lot of people report very slow start up for the Fox - including me! I don't notice it much coz I open it in the morning and leave it running till bed!
there are other suggestions - try a new FF profile and there are some speed up tweaks but none of them have worked for me.

Hit the scales if I've helped!

Well with iTunes - who could trust it with anything.

Sorry I didn't spell it out:
The FF problem is a typical FF problem - possible solution offered.
iTunes (the only other issue described) is likely an independent problem, but apart from finding iTunes clunky when I tried it I have no experience eith it and can't offer any suggestions.
If there are other problems norbert04 needs to describe them so posters have something to work with.

still I think it's worth it to try what he suggested, like clearing FF cashe history or creating a new profile.

I looked at the task manager screen shot you provided, and I see 24% CPU utilization by Disk Space cleanup Manager for windows, is that running while you have the problems with firefox? can you try to stop it or disable it and try to see if that has an effect on the firefox loading time?

Hey I think at the time he took the screen-shot...he was running the Disk Cleaner...by his own...!!
