Trouble with programs opening automatically on bootup.

There are two programs that I wanted to open when the computer was booted, Maxthon and Thunderbird. I followed the instructions on this link: How to Change Startup Programs in Windows 7 | eHow.com, but probably didn't follow correctly and now when booting up, I get two Windows Explorer screens. One screen's path is: c>program data>microsoft>windows>start menu>programs>startup>thunderbird; the other screen's path is the same but ends with Maxthon. Neither program opens on bootup.

Would appreciate someone helping me to get these two programs to start on boot up and also to get rid of the two unwanted Windos Explorer screens that presently show on boot up.

    Hi,

It seems you may have linked the folders and not the executables. If you open Start > All Programs > Startup then right-click each entry you should be able to change the details in the Target and Start In boxes to direct to the main executable (exe) for the program that should solve the issue.

On the start menu just Right Click & DRAG the shortcuts of the programs you want to start at boot up to the Startup folder on the start menu. Drop them there and a menu will open, select Copy Here.
    Reboot, programs will open.
