Windows 7 does a great job of its own house cleaning with the registry.
The Registry is for experts only..too easy to mess your computer up.
As far as the fixer goes....what is it that you need to fix.

Post here if you have a particular problem we can help you with...

    Welcome Mach04....

Ditto what Howling Wolfes just said.
Too many people who should not be using registry cleaners get in a whole lot of trouble and aggrivation by trying all the different registry cleaners.

Maybe you should rephrase your question by letting us know what is going on with your computer that makes you want to run a registry cleaner...

As was said, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Most Registry cleaners adverstised in popups and display ads are sales scams with no genius behind them. They will mess up your System in a short amount of time.

The only cleaner which I would use to touch the Registry is the Registry tab on free CCleaner, a genius app which is perhaps the most highly regarded and widely used single app in the tech world.

On hundreds of installs representing thousands of uses without issue, I use CCleaner "Run Cleaner" button followed by Registry tab's "Scan for" and "Fix Issues" on all my installs.

Recently I found a better defragger than my old favorite Auslogics: free Puran Disk Boot Time defragger, check the box for Intelligent Optimizing in it's Additional Operations tab.

i have used many registry cleaners. but all of them lacks at least one thing u want to have. then i came to know about tuneup utilities. this is great program for maintaining your system. it helps clean the registry, retrieve data, delete unused shortcuts, customization etc. go for the 2010 or later version. i would definitely recommend this software.

but in case u don't want this best registry cleaner i can suggest will be ccleaner.

The best registry cleaners are the ones you do not use. But if you want to destroy your system, registry cleaners are a sure bet.

    Thanks for the replies.
I am facing a problem with my browsers which is that I can only use IE8 and not Firefox4, Opera, and Google chrome. For some reason which I am not sure, I am unable to see any web pages at all with these browsers I mentioned. Unfortunately IE doesn't support Java at the moment and that has prevented me to see pages I regualry visit. I thought maybe a cleaning of the registry would help me to overcome this problem.
As for the cleaning of the registry I use Ccleaner, and it has helped me alot in the past without causing any problems. But as I am new to Windows 7 system, I thought you might have a better suggestion on using a differnet application for cleaning the registry.

I use CCleaner occasionally now and pick over it's registry cleaner recommendations. It provides backup of what it deletes so deletions can be undeleted easily if needed.

I will allow Revo Uninstaller to delete registry entries after confirming that they relate to the program I am uninstalling.

Everytime you agree to install a program you agree to your registry being altered.

Honestly, just cleaning out corrupted registry entries isn't going to reap a big performance reward. The bigggie with registry maintenance is defragmenting the registry. It's like deleting some program files and/or a bunch of music off your hard drive, it will leave your hard drive fragmented. So, one must defrag.

I personally use and install Clean My PC 4.37 for that purpose. It has a registry cleaner AND a defragmenter to 'fix it up'.:)
