So I don't know where to post this or the proper forum anywhere on the net. Searching for "Chugging" usually results in many unwanted results. My issue is I just installed system from 32bit to 64bit. It has been running good on 32bit but I figured it was time to upgrade it and clean out the registry get things flying again. Machine is no slouch its a core 2 quad 7.1 windows index on processor memory ops per second and a 6.9 on both graphics ratings. Yet draggin a window in it stutters... flash playback loads fast but video chugs at times...hulu chugs at time. The card in it is an evga 9800gt. Its a nice card, runs games great. I cannot figure out why things are chugging, scrolling down a web page chugs. Its almost as if my drivers
are not installed but they are and ran that windows experience index. Even the nvidia panel with the spinning 3d logo chugs a bit. Games in full screen seem to run okay though (hard to tell a chug)...but my main windows experience sucks now. I installed sophos and malware bytes just to make sure nothings there and hogging resources. I can have just one chrome browser up. And the flash chugs in both firefox and chrome. I am at my witts end on trouble shooting so I am posting here hoping someone has a thought. Its so weird that things run in full screen games but windows chugs. After the update to 64bit the only thing that was wrong was I got a new wireless card (a wireless n card) cause my old linksys 54g had no drivers for 64bit windows 7 that was easily installable, so I got a dlink dwa525. which of its own is not that impressive, does this odd thing where i have to reconnect to it or it drops speeds of like 6k a second . Thats a separate issue I am guessing. The chugging is driving me bonkers though.
Best I can figure is an uninstall and reinstall of the graphics drivers. Should I get them from evga's site? ( what I did the first time)...or get them from windows update thingy.
one thing to note I did install all windows updates my computer sees.
So any help hate to admit defeat here...
Another thing is i checked task manager nothing is taking any big processor load or anything and harddrive isn't like grinding away or anything.
