Windows 7 freeze/hang/slowdown issues
Hi,
I'm currently using Windows 7 64bit build 7600 for my laptop(specs provided below).
I've been using the OS for few months. Things went smooth until last week, and now I'm suffering from continuously system hang and total system slow-down.
Symptom:
The freeze occurs each time I leave my computer for above 10 minutes. It wont happen if I stay in control without break. When the freeze takes place, I can move my mouse- however, no program will respond to any mouse/keyboard action. Hard disk led doesnt blink anymore, and Ctrl-Alt-Del combination doesnt work either.
Together with the gradual freeze, my system began to work more slowly. The symptom apparently happens whenever I try calling some CPU-stress task like game and code-compilation. My music player sometimes has interruption, too.
My issue is similar to this:

Personnal efforts:
Firstly, I've tried most ordinary solution like defragmenting, scan disks and look for perfomance issues, yet nothing was improved ever since.
In addition, I've try installing SP1 but it interrupted each time I perform the update.
Btw, my laptop specs:
ASUS N80Vc
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo P8400
- RAM: 4GB
- GPA: NVdia 9600M GS
- HDD: 320GB
Currently using AVG Internet Security 2011.
Most-used program including: Skype, Yahoo Messenger, Outlook 2007, Excel 2007,Chrome and Firefox, Internet Download Manager and Cisco VPN 64bit.
Any helps/advice on this is deeply appreciated ;-)
