    SFC corrupt files

    I have been having a problem trying to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1. It simply will not install. That led me to run sfc/scannow. This showed a number of files that were corrupt and not repaired;

    C:\Windows\System32\ SensorsCpl.dll
    C:\Windows\System32\mmcndmgr.dll
    C:\Program Files\DVD Maker\ DVDMaker.exe
    C:\Windows\System32\ sqlsrv32.rll
    C:\Windows\System32\sdohlp.dll
    C:\Windows\System32\ sort.exe
    C:\Windows\System32\ SortWindows6Compat.dll

    I followed some instructions on this site and attempted to replace the files on my system with files from my installation disks. When I reran sfc I get the same errors. Either sfc is screwed up, I'm making an error when I try to replace the files, or the files are corrupt on my installation disk.

    Overall my system seems to run fine. But, I cannot install SP1 and, according to sfc, I have a number of corrupt files in the System32 folder. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Try running SFC repeatedly from Command Line in System Recovery Options.
    SFC -SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot - Windows 7 Forums

    The next step with irreparable files is to run a Repair Install.

    If you can find a Win7 installer with SP1 (not slipstreamed) you can do the Repair Install and install SP1 at the same time, as confirmed by numerous Users here.
