    Battery drains in hibernate mode

I'm running Win7 Ultimate 64 bit and ThinkPad battery does drain during hibernation. I have disabled Wake on Lan within BIOS and any other device within device manager that has the option to "Allow this device to wake up computer" unchecked...but still no good.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks all!

Are you sure that it's going into Hibernate? Right now, my computer goes on standby whenever I click on "Hibernate".

    2 things.

1 - it may be you actually going to hybrid-sleep mode, so check that, if you see a light flashing then its not in hibernate.
2 - batteries drain anyway even when not used albeit slowly.

I'm positive that it's going into hibernate mode. I click on start and then choose hibernate. There is no hybrid sleep mode that I'm aware of on my Thinkpad T400. Lenovo has no clue either...no surprise there.

I know this post is pretty old since my last update, but I figured it out. By turning off my wifi before shutting down, keeps my battery at full capacity.
