Can I delete these files?

Hi, my C Drive is bursting at the seams....

I have like 1.3 gig left....!

Can I delete these two items?

They are:

1. Windows Installer Package, (cause I guess/ hope this has been installed)
2. Windows Installer Patch, (again, maybe this has been installed and this is residual?)

Or what about these fonts that I dont think I use?

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a free utility that you can download called CCleaner. Install in and run it. It will clean out a lot of junk.

To free up free space try this instead:

Click the Start Orb, and in the search box type:

%temp%

Open that folder that pops up, and delete all files inside. You may get an error some can not be deleted. Just ignore them and move on.

You can also delete OLD restore points, and even reduce the space system restore takes.

Also, it may be a good ida to run a Advanced Disk Clean up. Especially if you have upgraded to SP1. this too will free up a lot of space.
Be warned. Once you delete the SP1 backup ups, you will no longer be able to un-install it. So be sure everything is running well.

Open a CMD Prompt as ADMIN
type:
cleanmgr sageset:99

In the box that pops up, check everything.

Next, type>
cleanmgr sagerun:99 to run the cleaner.

Please do not delete the Windows Installer package.
You will have to reimage, repair install or reinstall Windows if you do.

Follow Wishmasters suggestion and get rid of your temp file leftovers.

How come those font files are so big?

Have you been collecting them?

You might want to take a look in the root directory to see if there is a large file called hyperfil.sys?

As well as removing the multitude of temp files.

As usual, the web's number 1 advice and support - thanks guys.

Yes I have tried all the usual tricks - i.e. delete hibernaton, the %TEMP%, the CCleaner etc.

@SW12 - no idea why I have the font files - I guess I will delete those

@Wishmaster - sounds like a plan to remove the SP1 instal files.

Thanks everyone else - let me try and do this and report back - thanks

I tried to delete all those fonts and I got this message:

you require permission from trusted installer

These still ok to delete?

PS I found a great tutorial within these forums here to get the permission/ rights to delete folders....

Just want to double check that it is still cool to delete these fonts thanks!
