windows 7 64bit problem with ram

hi, i have a hp g62 with core i3 and 4Gb of RAM memory, bought last October

since some weeks ago my pc is lagging every time i play any game that run perfectly before, i thought that such situation was due to overheating (and it was, but i didnīt realize why...) but today i turned on my pc and without running any program i went to the task manager to see what processes were running, and nothing but the antivirus (NOD32) and msn (the programs that consumed more ram), the other programs where insignificant because they are from system. then i see the performance and "woooow!" 1.3 or 1.4 Gb of RAM consumption! i run the antivirus many times, the "TuneUp utilities" and "malwarebytes". at first they detected some errors and some trojans, then i fixed them and restarted the computer... after restart: the same memory loss as i mentioned above... so, what should i do?

First, make sure you cleaned all the malware from your system. Then download & run memtest to make sure there are no RAM problems.

1.3/1.4 ram usage is normal for windows 7.

Edited to add , if you have 4 gig of ram then well over 50 % is still free so this shouldn't be causing any issues.

Could you explain the issue better?

    Is it just when gaming?

this 1.3/1.4 ram usage is only without gaming... sometimes (when i donīt elevate the pc) it turns off when i'm running PES2011 (graphics at maximum)... but what is worrying me is the fact that a friend of mine has a pc equal to mine and runs approximately the same programs and has no problems (yet...)

Oh boy I wish I had 4GB of RAM so I can horde.
Don't concern yourself with RAM usage unless you are getting excessive hard faults.

So what you should do...NOTHING, concerning RAM at least.

If the computer is turning off when you run PES2011 on max, that is more then likely a heating issues.
Using too much RAM will not cause the computer to shutdown.

Ok so in your first post you put that its laggy in games.

This could be down to settings being too high for you graphics card or even your internet connection.

Now you are saying that the pc is shutting down while gaming , as said this could be down to overheating.

Have you checked you cpu temps and gpu temps yet?

If not then download the following programs and let us know what they are like -

For CPU - Core Temp (make sure you download the 64 bit version)

    For GPU - Download TechPowerUp GPU-Z v0.5.3 | techPowerUp
