That's absolutely false. In fact, in would most likely hurt performance by turning it off. Some programs actually require the page file to run properly no matter how much RAM you have installed. You could move the page file to be located on a separate physical hard drive than the one your Windows 7 is installed on for some better performance though.

As Brink stated, the only performance gain to be had is to move the paging file to a separate physical hard drive.
Hi zoro222, with a 64 bit system you can add more memory than 4GB if your machine allows it. 8GB seems to be the sweet spot for most people and will add some performance gains, but nothing stupendous.
