Do you clean the inside of your laptop?

I cant really unscrew mine, I guess I could, but I am worried I might break something....

My point is, should you try and clean inside, remove dust etc?

Id like to do this but I have a toughbook which is exactly that, tough to undo....

    Thanks for all help!!!!

I use compressed air to remove dust, etc for the vents. (I use very short, quick bursts at an angle so as to not drive the dirt deeper into the unit.) I'll also wipe down the battery compartment and undo the cover to the memory modules to see if there's any dust build up. This may give some other ideas:

    Same here

I did something similar to my laptop, because my friend (laptop) became noisy and had a hard breath, after blowing air into it and cleaning CAREFULLY the fun my friend became a quiet one, the way I like him...

I took mine apart (I'm one of those people...) almost down to just the motherboard/CPU for a clean once. I was replacing the optical drive so I was half-way there already; I thought, "why not clean this thing while I'm in here?"

I don't take anything apart on the laptop to clean it, just a quick shot of compressed air on the fan to keep the vents clear. I do wipe down the screen and keyboard with a 50/50 mix of 80% isopropyl alcohol and distilled water.

i use compressed air in the vent and heat sink fan to clean the inside on a regular basis.
every few months or so, i open up the laptop to clean it a little more thoroughly. that said, those every few months are pretty unnecessary with a regular basis compress airing; there's hardly any dust build up everytime i check.
